Got up this morning and picked grapes.  Got enough to make 2 more gallons of juice.  I now have four gallons of  rich dark purple grape juice.  I can now make jelly, wine or just drink wonderful grape juice. 

I played on the computer put jelly making classes on craigslist.  I haven't had any response yet not sure if I will. 

Checked on hay and things are looking pretty bleak.  May have to go out of state to get hay for the winter.  I may have to cut the herd somehow too.  The only animals that are pretty safe are Thunder, Megan, Berry and maybe the new little doe.  Everything else is truly up for debate.  That puts Pickles, Showboat and Cody in jeopardy.  Not to worry I can't sell them either!  No one is buying anything either.  The reason I don't do Chicken Coop in the summer!!!!  Pat, the snake hero, found a black snake in the coop the other day.  It had gone through a hole between nests and ate some eggs.  It was so greedy that it couldn't get back out of the hole and we think died of  heat.  Pat too it away.  Again that's why I DO NOT DO  chicken coop in the summer.  The thing is they usually travel in pairs.  So that means there is another one out there somewhere.  Pat said he didn't find eggs yesterday, which means another snake.  He actually said to me, "you should look in the coop"  I don't know what he was smoking!!!!  We wouldn't have chickens if he didn't do the coop thing in the summer.   I really think that in the next year we will be doing without chickens, eggs, milk, cream, butter, bacon, sausage, beef and pork.  I know I don't want to hear any anyone whine. We have had the time to get things ready but it has NOT been important!!  The most important thing that is going to be missed is COFFEE!!!   Must buy LOTS of Excredin to keep the headaches away.   

I do want to get a mini jersey and if I have to reduce down to just goats and cows so be it.  It looks like things are going to get pretty nuts and prices out of sight.  I don't think my family will be able to live without the food they are use to.  Like I said not to worry no one is buy anything right now.  That makes me getting a few cows pretty good.  I have lease land to the south that I may have to put animals on.  Pray for rain.  Pray really hard. 

Two of my best friends from grade school had a really funny thing on Facebook.  Love ya girls and it is sosoo true!!!!!  Karen and Debbie you know what I mean!!!
