Grapes ready to harvest!!

I went to turn off the water by the vineyard yesterday and Sam, Pat's dog ran a large deer out of the vineyard.  I went to check the grapes and they ARE READY!!  You know what that means, everything is on hold for a week or so.  Our first harvest was about this time, middle to the end July.  It was a hot dry year as well.  Since then harvest has been the end of July to the first of August.
This morning, after chores,  I went out and picked several buckets about 20 pounds of grapes.  I  washed, de-stemed, crushed and cooked the grapes.(pruple finger nails)  Then put in jars for future use, jelly, wine or just juice.  The 20 pounds of grapes made two gallons of juice.
What I am putting off is laying the floor in the den and putting on the counter tops in the cabin kitchen.  I also need to get the garden ready for a fall planting.  If it doesn't burn up like most of my other plants.  My blueberry and roses plants are really suffering from the heat.  I water everyday but 102 to 106 is hard on everything!!
I made lavender goat milk soap a couple of days ago.  I have been making soap in the cabin so I wouldn't keep the kitchen in the house in a soap making mess.  I got everything ready and even started when I realized that I didn't have the lavender.  When you start you really can't stop.  I had to run to the house to look for the lavender.  I couldn't find it so, the soap will smell wonderful but no lavender leaves.   I have everything I need to make Oatmeal, Almond and Cocoa Butter goat milk soap. Will try to have everything on hand when I start.   That will have to wait as well.  Unless I get a spirt of energy in the middle of the night!!!  Not very likely!!!
Have found out that Woobie is a "water dog".  He loves to swim with me in the pool.  He has such a heavy fur coat that it really helps him cool off.  He knows how to swim to the steps and get out on his own.
Forgot to mention that Thunder had a sting or bite on his chest.  It was very swollen and he had a hard time walking.  Pat asked a "horseman" what to do and he said to run cool well water on it for thirty mins to bring down the swelling.  I did that and it did really help.  The next day the colt, Showboat's face was swollen.  I don't have a clue what they got into but it wasn't good.  They are both doing much better.  Showboat is completely better but Thunder still has some swelling.
Well I guess that's it for now.
