Donkey's????

You just won't believe what we have been dealing with the last few days.  Donkeys!!  LOL  For three days in a row we have seen donkeys on the road.

I went to town on Thursday and as I was going up the hill on Pine Corner Rd I saw a large animal.  I wasn't sure at first I thought it was a deer, but no it was taking its time and moving very slow.  As I got closer it was a donkey with a bright red halter!!  I took a picture and will post it as soon as I can on the website.  I called all my neighbors while I was going into town and they didn't know anyone who had a donkey.  Ummmmmm, makes you wonder where it came from.

The the next time I went to town it was with friends and we saw the same donkey. He was walking down the road at a steady rate with no place in mind.  I would have thought he would be hungry and thirsty and headed home.

Then the next day as myself and friends were going to town there were THREE donkeys on the road.  Two girls and a stud.  They looked very healthy and acted if they were headed somewhere!  I have no idea where they were going but they sure acted like they knew.  Got pictures of them too, so I'll put their pictures on the website too.

Hard to believe the next time we went out there was one donkey on the road that we saw and he was headed someplace with purpose.  We were on our way to pick up a young doe goat and our trailer.  While we were there I borrowed a buck to bred my girls.  Wouldn't you know it, on the way home WITH THE TRAILER, no donkeys!!

The little doe I got is a pretty red little girl and I need to name her.  The buck is a year old and knows his job, now if he can talk the girls into it!!  His name is Jack.   They are both afraid of dogs.  It won't be long and they will feel right at home.  My two girls have taken them in and I believe they will get along just fine.

Update on Showboat, he is doing fine!!!  He will let us rub all over him now.  It has taken awhile but he is perfectly at home now and nothing bothers him.  He even takes off  on his own now and Thunder loses him and calls and calls to bring him home.

The chickens are doing okay but they are really hot.  I've only lost one to heat so far.  We haven't had heat like this in years.  I so hope we aren't heading for the dust bowl again!!

The grapes are doing okay but we sure don't have the crop we should have.  I think we have enough for jelly and wine for the family.

From the Demirosa have a wonderful day and STAY COOL!!
