I didn't mention the other day that I saw a snake tail while getting hay for the goats.  I didn't want to dwell on it!!  It's not like I can stay away from the hay.  The goats,horse and sheep would not permit it!!!  Twice a day Lady, snake or not!!! 

I have even been getting eggs from the chicken coop.  Usually I don't do it "AT ALL" when the snakes are active.  Or at least until I see the first snake around the coop, well today was the day!!!  Mother and I were in one of the sitting areas in front of the cabin.  I was going back to the house and was still in the cabin yard and before I knew it I was doing the whaaaaaaaa!!!!!!, thing.  At our house sticks and limbs impersonate snakes all the time.  But the brain knew right away.  I realized I was backing up and looking for a high place.  The high place was the swing.    Funny that the dogs were walking all around and didn't even notice!!  What is wrong with them?!  They are suppose to defend and protect!!!!   Mother knew something was wrong and I told her so she went to get Pat.  MY HERO!!!   It was really funny seeing this 81 year old little lady going as fast as her little pigeon toed legs would carry her!!  My first thought was have her watch the snake while I got Pat but what if it charged her, didn't want to explain to the brother why I left Mother watching the snake and she hurt herself!!    I was a bit worried that the snake would make it to the chickens before Mother made it to the house.   She really moved pretty quick.  Then Pat came charging out of the house with his dog and shotgun!!  The most important thing to know is that he left a plate of warm food on the counter.  That means I "really" am important.  Right before he came out of the house the, not so smart snake, had moved across the grass stopped and raised its head about six inches above the grass, looking for the chicks I'm sure.  Well Pat had a perfect shot when he got there and was only below the hard deck for a second and took the shot!!!!!  Like I said "my hero".  Snake dead!!!  

This morning I went with a friend to pick up a puppy about an hour away.  It was a nice drive and the puppy was sooooooooooooo  cute!!!!!!!!!!!  Big Puppy Eyes.    I'm sure it is a match made in heaven!!  Going to be a HUGE dog and just what my friend was looking for!! 

When I got home our neighbor called, he had been to garage sales and had things we might want.  When he and his better half got here they had a bag full of duck decoys for Pat and a wall hanging with grapes for me.  They are such neat neighbors.  He is also our cabin builder.  He is going to do the ceiling in the cabin.   (maybe even the walls)

Just went outside and the clouds are building but to the east of us, thank goodness, that means this line won't be affecting us. 

Well fans it's almost time for the THUNDER GAME to start and I just won't be able to concentrate on the blog, so hope you're all watching and yelling for OKC, OKC, OKC!!  Durant, Westbrook, Harden, etc.......................GO  THUNDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
