The Aftermath

We survived the festival.  I want to thank everyone that came out and everyone that helped!!  It was a long day and I don't know if we will keep the gate open that long next year.  The tents were great.  I really liked the one on the hill by the store with the picnic tables.
Amber Woods was a real hit and the editor from the Canadian Sands was at the festival and is going to put her on the August cover.
Gypsy Breeze was also a big hit, just like they were last year.  Scott Adkins did a good concert so all in all the music was very good.
The Grape Ranch served alot of Frozen Rose and I had several myself!!   Big Daddy BBQ from Noble went over well too.
My neighbor brought her bottle baby goats and the kids got to feed them.  She also made goat milk ice cream! YUM!!  Another neighbor brought his chicks and let the kids touch and hold them.  I had a load of sand dropped and put toys on it for the kids to play with and they did.
Meet some really neat people.  I didn't get a chance to talk to everyone but did enjoy those I did speak to.
I have a feeling there were a lot of people that couldn't find us.  Our signage wasn't the best and some didn't get put up, so please forgive us.  We will do better next time.
The day after the event I went out to clean up and it was unbelieverable!!!  There was nothing to clean up!!!  People were great.  There was NO trash on the ground!  It was wonderful to have that kind of people at our festival.
The only down side was someone did steal my sign on Slaughterville Rd.  I don't know why they took it or what good it would do them.  It was a home made sign and I will make another it was just really sad that there are people like that out there.
I woke up this morning at 6:30AM  and thought, "I don't HAVE  to do anything!".  So I got up and went to the vineyard and started picking grapes for jelly.  When Mother got up she picked while I started making juice and then started making jelly.  I hope to have alot more Zinfandel Grape Jelly this year.  I made two batches, one red and one white.  I had forgotten just how good Zin jelly is!!  Linda your blackberry will be on it's way SOON!!
I had hats made that say Demi Rosa Ranch and Vineyard and I really like them.  The look really sharp!!
I haven't really made up  my mind if we will have a festival next year.  I need some input on this.  If you were here and have any suggestions please let me know.  If you want me to do it again next year please, let me know.
We do have grapes left to sell so if you want some either call me or email me.  They won't last long and with the rain they need to be picked very soon!!!
We had a storm come through this evening and as Pat was going to bed he checked to see if the rocks (our alarm system) were on the dog food can outside.  When he opened the door he saw a raccoon tail behind the can so another one bites the dust!!!  It seems that raccoon's are very active in bad weather! Who knew!
Well it's time to hit the hay and get some rest.  I took a nap this afternoon, I never take a nap, so now I'm having a hard time going to sleep.  Going to try again.  Oh, I am going to be tweeting soon, I think!! This is all new to me so bear with me!!
Thanks for listening!!
