Getting things done

The last two weeks have been very busy.  Went to a trade show last week and the weather was really exciting!!  I have never seen baseball size hail before.  We  were in a steel building and it sounded like cannon fire.  There were several tornadoes skipping around so Heather and I headed home when the hail stopped.  Due to the weather there weren't very many people at the show but those that did venture out were great and hope to do business with some of them in the future.

Pat and I FINALLY got the new chicken pen up and the chickens seem very happy.  The chicks from last year are starting to lay and hopefully we will have plenty of eggs very soon!

We also got the garden fenced and tilled.  I hope this year to have a garden. The vineyard takes so much time that I haven't been able to do both.  With Pat being home we may make a farmer out of him yet! lol  The vineyard needs to be pruned this weekend!!  I can't believe that it is time to start already!!  It's a little scary because we have had so many blue northers come through this year.  If we prune to early we could lose the new growth.  If we prune to late that wouldn't be very good either.  Why do we have a vineyard???  Oh ya, MOTHER!!

Have been working on a new idea and I think it is going to be really different!!  I made some Zinfandel Wine Grape Mustard! Yes, mustard!  I also tried it with the Merlot, that was Pat's favorite.  It can be used as a glaze and/or dipping sauce.  We are going to have a taste testing this weekend.  I want to see if it's better on beef, chicken or pork.  Hopefully it will be great with everything!!  I'll let you know!

The babies are doing great!  We sent one of the little bucks to his wonderful new home.  He will have lots of company and a great life.  One of the little does hasn't eaten very well the last two feedings.  We are keeping an eye on her.  The other buck may be going to his new home soon.  We let them out with the big girls during the day.  They run, buck, play and have a ball.  You can almost see the older does just shake their heads.  So much energy!!  At night we still lock them in the baby pen.  We have been hearing coyotes during the day and don't want to lose any of the babies.

Went to another trade show this week in the north east part of the state.  It went much better!  No inclement weather this time.  In fact it was beautiful!!  The people we met were wonderful and hope to form some really great relationships with some of them.

I have made several batches of soap, Tea Tree Sage and Cocoa Butter this week.  Trying to get a good supply to sell and for the Festival.  We are getting ready for the festival also.  You know, I think I need another project!!  NOT.

Have a Great and Blessed Day.    Pray for our Country and our Leaders!!
