We have been working on the new building and it is almost finished!   We took the tent down and our neighbor, the builder,  being the wonderful neighbor that he is he came over and helped us get the walls up. 

Yesterday morning I went out to feed before we started working and it seems that something had been feeding on my new chicks.  Thats the bad part of the farm.  Losing any animal is not a great way to start the day.  There must be a raccoon about. We will have to take raccoon precautions. 

Pat and I started cutting the rafters and Pat's dog Sam was helping.   He grabs the scraps and takes them to play with.  We will have lots of cleaning up to do, did I say "we". 

I started to the house for more coffee.  As I walked by a tree not 20 feet from where we were working I noticed Sam was looking up with great interest.  I glanced up and there it was the Raccoon!!  He was at the top of the tree laying on a branch.  I told Pat and I went to get the gun.......  No more Raccoon!!    Just another interesting start to the day on the Rosa! 

We got all the rafters cut and started placing them around the building.  There weren't enough!!!  Pat had to run back to town to get more.  So we only got two rafters up and it was time to quite.  We were both tried and it just isn't safe doing things on a ladder when your tired.  I did go ahead and take precautions, I put a board over the chicks to keep any other raccoon in the area out. Usual where there is one there is bound to be another.  

It's only 6 am so haven't been out to check on things but I'm hoping all is well.  I hope my customers today will forgive the construction zone.  The building will be so nice.  I'll let you know if we have more unwanted visitors!
