Busy, Busy, Busy

A little less than 2 weeks to Festival!!

The days seem to run together.  Friday, 5am the raccoon alarm went off! I looked out the window and I saw the little guy, oh wait, there are two, NO, there are three!!!  I woke Pat up and he went out and sent two raccoons on Holiday!! (chicken run, the movie)  The third one got away.  As of today we haven't had anymore problems.

We had to get hay for the hay ride so we drove several hours away to get nice clean straw. We picked up 33 bales of straw and headed home.  Go home just in time to milk.

Saturday, the big day.  Our first booking, a hayride!   Got up really early to get things together.  By the time they arrived, about 10:30am we were ready.  I think everyone had a really good time.  They got to try their hand at milking.  Ruth was a very good girl and didn't mind at all.

The hayride was a success.  I was an outrider on Thunder, the wonder. (my horse).  When we got back to the Gift shop we had hot dogs.  It was so hot!! The wind wasn't blowing and for Oklahoma that is very unusual!!   We sat under the tree and ate and talked and had a good time.

As we were winding down their visit another car pulled up with a load.  It was our first International visitors! :0 There was a gentleman and four women all from Peru, only one still lives in Peru the rest are living in Oklahoma City.  They wanted to find us this weekend so they wouldn't have any trouble the day of the Festival.  They bought soap, jelly and cheese.  They wanted to see the vineyard, goats, horses and they really wanted to gather eggs but the hay ride kids had already gotten them for the day.   After we walked around the place we all sat under the tree and had a cool drink.  They stayed for several hours and when they left Pat went into the house to get something and while he was inside got a call that someone else wanted to come out.

Quickly we changed clothes, again it was HOT!!  I suppose we were pretty smelly by then!  A couple from Norman came out and we gave them the tour.  They purchased cheese and jelly too.   They stayed for a little over an hour and they said they would be back for the festival also.  Time to close the gate!!!!

Sunday ~~  DIDN'T DO A THING!!!!

Today, it all starts over again.  Pat is mowing and I'm do chores around the place.  So I guess I should get back outside and get things done!!
